INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMMES

Among the seven current programmes, a vast number of fields and subjects are covered. This is the result of new modes of social action, economical changes and the relationships between globalisation and the collective and individual expression of the human being, expressions which have always been present, but that are now going through new paths.

This programme analyses theories and develops studies to have a better understanding of the third sector, helping to make predictions about its nature and evolution; the role of different NGOs as political and social powers is studied, trying to bridge civil society and the public and private sector. The main research lines are: relationship civil society-State, citizen participation in economy; NGOs and development; and globalisation of civil society.

This programme has established interaction mechanisms with diverse organisations, which has enabled the creation of the National Network of Studies of the Third Sector (Red Nacional de Estudios del Tercer Sector), as well as the analogous one in Latin America. It also gives consultancy to environmental and philanthropic organisations.

This programme was created to cater for external requests of research projects and studies that require a particular timeframe and conditions to be carried out by the consultancy services. Among other activities this programme carries out the planning and programmes, as well as studies, evaluations and geographic databases for governments and federal, state and municipal dependencies.
