His sound was clearly related to the soul and funk records that I was collecting at the time but with a sunny edge and a language that would sound more similar to mine. A couple of years later I moved to Brazil as a consequence of that growing passion for tropical sounds and found myself living in one of the most exciting music cities: Recife.</p>
